Mobile Installation Instructions (PWA)

You can "install" Neon Hooks as an application on your mobile, without App Store / Play Store. That's what it's called PWA (Progressive Web App).

What you will see after installation: an icon will appear on the home screen, open in its own window like a regular app, and (where supported) can display notifications.

Android — Chrome

On Android it's usually the easiest: Chrome automatically shows an option to install.

Open the site from Chrome on Android.
Wait 1–2 seconds: a popup will often appear "Add to Home Screen" or "Install App" .
Press Addition / Installation .
Ready: you will see the icon on the home screen. On many devices, it also appears in the app drawer as a regular app.

If you don't get a popup: press them 3 dots (top right) → "Add to Home Screen" or "Install App" .

After installation, the experience is 100% like a regular app. Push Notifications are supported on Android (depending on the device's notification settings).

iOS — Safari (iPhone / iPad)

On iPhone/iPad Apple does not automatically show installation popups. Adding is done manually from the Share menu.

Open the site from Safari (not from in-app browser e.g. Instagram/TikTok).
Press the button Share (square with up arrow).
Scroll through the options and tap "Add to Home Screen" ( Add to Home Screen ).
Press Addition .
Ready: an icon will appear on the home screen and open as an app.

Tip for iPhone users: Click to install Share → Add to Home Screen .

Push Notifications on iOS: from iOS 16.4 and later notifications are supported, but only if the user has added the app to the home screen and enabled notifications.

Frequently asked questions / minor problems

I don't see Add to Home Screen on iPhone: make sure you're on Safari and not through another app (in-app browser). If you are in an in-app browser, click "Open in Safari".
On Android it does not install: try the 3 dots → “Install App”. If not, clear cache or try updating Chrome.
I want to remove it: tap and hold the icon on the home screen → “Remove”.
